How To Best Plan For Retirement

This question: How To Best Plan for Retirement is one of those important but sensitive issues in life that makes me feel a little old fashioned. I have a lot of traditional values. I’m one of those people that believes, for example, that when you are in a romantic relationship, you shouldn’t even have contact with other friends of the opposite sex, particularly if you’re married, just because of what could happen. I know that many people don’t share this belief. They think it’s okay to have friends of the opposite sex while you’re in a serious or committed relationship, or even a marriage.

So, as we look at this particular question about retirement, especially if I look at my own life, the only way to answer is that it’s best to take a traditional approach. Here’s what I mean. Stay with me for a minute as I explain.

Experts In My Own Life

I exercise with a coach that has helped me achieve about a 13% body fat level, which is great. It’s not like I’m an Olympic athlete, but I would say that 13% body fat is a good sign that I’m fit. And that’s what this coach has helped me to do.

I also pay a functional doctor to look at my blood, saliva and urine to see how I can continue to fine tune my body through diet and other methods in order to become more healthy. I spend thousands of dollars on both of these coaches. I also have an interior designer to help decorate my home, as well as clients’ rental homes that we work together on. I approach the question of how to best plan for retirement the same way.

The Wealthiest man’s advice for you

King Solomon wrote in proverbs that with an abundance of counselors there is victory.

Proverbs 11:14 – Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory.

And so with this particular question of how to best plan for retirement, I believe the answer is to hire a financial planner that is an expert in retirement planning. I believe with all my heart that is the best way to do it, because they can do it better than you can. I live my life that way and so do my successful mentors. Most people take their car to a mechanic, most people go to a doctor. And so when you seek out expert advice in the area of retirement planning, you will receive direction that is better than what you’ve come up with on your own. When you work with an expert in retirement planning, that person is not only working with other people who are making similar decisions, but also they should presumably know a whole lot more about retirement planning and how to best plan for retirement then you do. It takes a lot of humility for some people to be able to ask and pay for help. But I truly don’t think there is any better way to plan for retirement then to hire a professional, like Third Act Retirement Planning, to help you.
